Mayor Moya and the Belize City Council Working Hard for a better Belize City |
 Mayor Moya, Councillor Usher with winers of the raffles They say that the best employer can be found at ground zero, and Belize City Mayoress, Her Worship Zenaida Moya, is truly building a legacy as the hardest working and most successful first female Mayor of Belize City. As if the work at City Hall is not time consuming and energy burning enough, Mayor Moya spends her weekends cleaning up the city streets with City Council workers and community volunteers. Here is one lady who never seems to tire or shy away from work. She goes out to clean the City, and people flock to commend her on the great job she is doing as Mayor of Belize City, to wish her well, and to pledge their support for her candidacy in the next City Council Election. Mayor Moya never turns any citizen away; she meets, greets, and takes complaints or hears concerns wherever they pop up, keeping her ratings high throughout her term. Last Saturday morning saw the popular Mayor of Belize City and Executive Administrative Assistant Adrian Rodriguez on the go again, joining UDP Lake Independence Standard Bearer Vanley Jenkins to implement Belize City’s first ever Greening Project on Marine Parade and Western Avenue. Later in the day, Mayor Moya moved deeper into Lake Independence to add her strength to the cleanup campaign. Again, many City residents showered the Mayor with love and appreciation, while others took the opportunity to make queries and seek assistance from the Mayor and her office. |

First Caribbean donates $10,000 towards Battlefield Park |
 Mayor Moya receiving donation from First Caribbean International Bank, Country Manager Mr. Smith The Belize City Council continues to work diligently to beautify our city, and has received assistance from First Caribbean International Bank with a generous contribution towards the restoration of Battlefield Park. An historical landmark, Battlefield Park has served as the preferred meeting place of Belize’s inhabitants since 1638, and was the launching place for Antonio Soberanis’ Laborers and Unemployed Association and other political entities. Presently the park is used for rallies and concerts, and being a popular place of refuge for homeless people, is also the location of the City Council’s monthly feeding programme
